HomeMy WebLinkAbout13617 RESOLUTION NO. 13617 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2017 GENERAL FUND BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $200 TO BELMONT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO SPONSOR THEIR VETERANS ASSISTANCE FUNDRAISING PROJECT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Payment in the amount of $200 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2017 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Belmont Elementary School to sponsor their fundraising project to provide local veterans with cold weather items. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval. Nawrocki and Members of City Council CC: Sam Azad, City Manager VIA: Gina Dutcher, City Clerk FROM: City Council Member Chris Nicoll SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2017 GENERAL FUND BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $200 TO BELMONT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO SPONSOR THEIR VETERANS ASSISTANCE FUNDRAISING PROJECT SUMMARY: Attached for consideration is a request for funding for a Kids Community Outreach Project through the Destination Imagination Team at Belmont Elementary School. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: No previous Council action. BACKGROUND: City Council Member Chris Nicoll is requesting $200 to sponsor the Belmont Elementary School Kids Community Outreach Program. The Belmont Dream Team, a Destination Imagination (DI) team of seven students, are working on an outreach project to help local veterans in need of cold weather supplies including coats, hats, boots, gloves, etc. The team has been holding fund raisers and shoveling snow in the neighborhood to raise donations for this project. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds in the amount of $200 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2017 General Fund Budget to Belmont Elementary School. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not Applicable. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not Applicable. ALTERNATIVES: City Council could choose not to support this funding. RECOMMENDATION: This Resolution is at the request of City Council Member Chris Nicoll. Attachments: Attached for consideration a request for funds for to assist with a veteran’s assistance project.
