HomeMy WebLinkAbout13619 RESOLUTION NO. 13619 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2017 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE HISTORIC ARKANSAS RIVERWALK OF PUEBLO (HARP) FOUNDATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,000 TO SPONSOR THE 2017 ROLLIN’ ON TH THE RIVERWALK JULY 4 CELEBRATION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Payment in the amount of $6,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2017 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to the HARP Foundation for the 2017 th Rollin’ on the Riverwalk July 4 Celebration. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Sponsorship for this event in the amount of $6,000 was made in 214 from City Council contingencies. BACKGROUND: City Council Member Bob Schilling is requesting $6,000 to sponsor the 2017 Rollin’ on th the Riverwalk July 4 Celebration. The HARP Foundation, in conjunction with the Pueblo Symphony, presents the annual th Rollin’ on the Riverwalk July 4 Celebration to thank the community for all of its support of the Pueblo Riverwalk. The 2016 event brought over 10,000 people to the 1-day celebration and the goal for 2017 is to have the largest fireworks display in Southern Colorado and attract over 15,000 people to the event. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds in the amount of $6,000 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2017 General Fund Budget to HARP Foundation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not Applicable. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not Applicable. ALTERNATIVES: City Council could choose not to sponsor this event. RECOMMENDATION: This Resolution is at the request of City Council Member Bob Schilling.
