HomeMy WebLinkAbout13622 RESOLUTION NO. 13622 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2017 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS OF PUEBLO COUNTY IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000 TO EXPAND SUMMER PROGRAM BUSINESS HOURS BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Payment in the amount of $20,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2017 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to the Boys & Girls of Pueblo County to expand summer program business hours. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval. Nawrocki and Members of City Council CC: Sam Azad, City Manager VIA: Gina Dutcher, City Clerk FROM: City Council Member Ray Aguilera SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2017 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS OF PUEBLO COUNTY IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000 TO EXPAND SUMMER PROGRAM BUSINESS HOURS SUMMARY: Attached for consideration is a letter requesting funds which will allow Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County expand their summer business hours. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Funds in the amount of $1,000 were contributed in 2014 and 2015 to sponsor the Champions of Youth Recognition Banquet. BACKGROUND: City Council Member Ray Aguilera is requesting $20,000 for assistance with expanding business hours for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County. Summer program hours are generally 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Additional funding would allow the clubs to open at 7:30 a.m. to help accommodate working families. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds in the amount of $20,000 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2017 General Fund Budget to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not Applicable. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not Applicable. ALTERNATIVES: City Council could choose not to support this funding. RECOMMENDATION: This Resolution is at the request of City Council Member Ray Aguilera. Attachments: Attached for consideration a letter requesting funds for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County.
