RE: Support for Hose Co.#3, Fire Museum located at 116 Broadway, Pueblo, CO
Dear Council Members,
On behalf of the membership and board of Historic Pueblo, Inc.,we would like you to consider a
contribution of$250.00 towards the required match of a Colorado State Historical grant for Hose Co.#3.
The state grant is for$26,210 with a required match of$9,210.The grant is for construction documents
and emergency masonry repairs.
One of the board members of Historic Pueblo, Inc is helping with the planning and preservation of the
building. We, as an organization, are planning to help with fundraising to help raise the funds needed
for a match and to fund other needed projects with the Hose Co. #3.
This historic fire station, built in 1881, is the second oldest building owned by the City of Pueblo and
needs to be restored to its old glory to preserve the history of the fire department in Pueblo. This
building now houses a museum with wonderful artifacts and archives about the fire department. The
volunteers with the museum, Hose Co.#3,are dedicated to preserving the history and opening the
doors to visitors and students to help them understand and enjoy the local fire department history.
If granted, the contribution check should be made to Pueblo Firefighters Historical Society, 116 N. Main
St. Pueblo, CO 81003.
Thank you for your consideration to help fund the match for this much needed historical preservation
project.
Sincerely,
Corinne XoehCer
