AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING MATCHING GRANT FUNDS
IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,588 FROM HISTORIC PUEBLO
INC., AND BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING SAID
FUNDS INTO PROJECT NO. PL1405 - GOODNIGHT
BARN STABILIZATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Historic Pueblo, Inc. has donated $1,588 towards the cash
match amount of a grant from the State Historical Fund, History Colorado; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
Matching funds donated by the Historic Pueblo, Inc. in the amount of $1,588
have been accepted and are hereby budgeted and appropriated for the Goodnight Barn
Stabilization Project, PL1405.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and
all acts consistent with the intent of the Ordinance and Agreement to effectuate the
policies and procedures described therein.
SECTION 3.
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and
approval.

PL1405 - GOODNIGHT BARN STABILIZATION PROJECT
SUMMARY:
This Ordinance accepts a donation of $1,588 in funds from Historic Pueblo, Inc., and
budgets and appropriates said funds into the Goodnight Barn Stabilization Project,
PL1405.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
City Council approved Ordinance No. 8779, dated October 14, 2014, which established
the project number PL1405, budgeted and appropriated funds in the amount of $42,350
relating to the Goodnight Barn Stabilization Project and approved the Contract with the
State Historical Fund.
BACKGROUND:
On October 14, 2014, City Council through Ordinance No. 8779 approved a grant
agreement with the State Historical Fund that awarded $33,662 in funds for the
Goodnight Barn Stabilization Project. The grant agreement required the City to provide
local matching funds in the amount of $10,588 which combined with the grant funds
provided $42,350 for the project. The City secured $9,000 of the local matching funds
from contributions from the Pueblo County Historical Society and Historic Pueblo, Inc.
for the Project. This Ordinance accepts $1,588 in additional funds from Historic Pueblo,
Inc., and budgets and appropriates the funds into the Goodnight Barn Stabilization
Project, PL1405. The funds from Historic Pueblo, Inc. will provide the additional local
matching contribution to comply with the requirements of the State Historical Fund
grant.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The $1,588 donation has been received from the Historic Pueblo, Inc.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
The Historic Preservation Commission has recommended the project.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
The Goodnight Barn Stakeholders Committee has endorsed the project.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Project will not go forward if the donated funds are not accepted and budgeted.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Ordinance.
