A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2016
GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE GREATER PUEBLO
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,000
TO SPONSOR THE 2016 DOWNTOWN COLORADO INC.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
Section 1.
Payment in the amount of $2,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the
2016 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to The Greater Pueblo Chamber of
Commerce for the sponsorship of the 2016 Downtown Colorado Inc. annual conference
to be held September 20-23, 2016.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and
all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and
procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached is a request for a sponsorship for the 2016 Downtown Colorado Inc. annual
conference to be held September 20-23, 2016.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
No previous action.
BACKGROUND:
Council Member Steve Nawrocki is requesting $2,000 to sponsor the 2016 Downtown
Colorado Inc. annual conference to be held September 20-23, 2016 to coincide with the
Chile & Frijoles Festival. The purpose of the conference is for revitalization experts to
provide advocacy, technical assistance training, and educational events to support our
local government with efforts to support small businesses and grow a sustainable local
economy. The conference will bring an estimated 350 people to our community. Pueblo
will have the opportunity to showcase the ongoing efforts of the Pueblo City leadership
and view downtown community projects first hand.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $2,000 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in
the 2016 General Fund Budget to The Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
None.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None.
ALTERNATIVES:
City Council could choose not to fund this event for 2016.
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is at the request of City Council Member Steve Nawrocki.
