HomeMy WebLinkAbout13381 RESOLUTION NO. 13381 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE COMMUNITY SERVICES ADVISORY COMMISSION (CSAC) – JOINT CITY/COUNTY APPOINTMENTS WHEREAS, there are (2) vacancies to be filled on the Community Services Advisory Commission – Joint City/County appointments. The two appointments shall complete the term expiring April 30, 2018; and WHEREAS, this Resolution ratifies the joint appointments made following the PACOG meeting on January 28, 2016, by City/County Representatives who were present; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1: The following applicants are hereby appointed to the Community Services Advisory Commission – Joint City/County Appointments to complete the four-year terms expiring April 30, 2018 due to the resignations of Julianne White and David “Nick” Potter: Dr. Kelly Gehlhoff Jack Selway SECTION 2: The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval. Nawrocki and Members of City Council CC: Sam Azad, City Manager VIA: City Clerk’s Office FROM: Gina Dutcher, City Clerk SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE COMMUNITY SERVICES ADVISORY COMMISSION (CSAC) – JOINT CITY-COUNTY APPOINTMENTS SUMMARY: This Resolution ratifies the appointments of two City-County members to the Community Services Advisory Commission to complete terms expiring April 30, 2018. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Appointments to the CSAC are made on an annual basis selecting individuals to serve four-year th terms expiring on April 30 of each year. BACKGROUND: The Community Services Advisory Commission studies the needs of the community in the areas of health and human services, recreation, arts and culture, environmental/conservation and economic development; reviews and analyzes proposals that are submitted to the Pueblo County and City of Pueblo Partnership during the annual Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including conducting interviews and performing site visits of agencies submitting proposals; makes final recommendations to the City and County officials for funding consideration on an annual basis, or as needed in an emergency situation; and works on other issues and projects as assigned to them by the Public Officials. Due to resignations, there exists two vacancies for City/County joint appointments that need to be made to complete the 4-year terms expiring April 30, 2018. The recruitment process in 2015 was handled by Pueblo County Staff and applications were received from:  Dr. Kelly Gehlhoff  Jack Selway  Regina Purcell Following the PACOG meeting on January 28, 2016, members who were present selected the following individuals for appointment:  Dr. Kelly Gehlhoff  Jack Selway FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This is a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None ALTERNATIVES: None – This Resolution Ratifies the selections made following the January 28, 2016 PACOG Meeting RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution.
