HomeMy WebLinkAbout13383RESOLUTION NO. 13383 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES BETWEEN PUEBLO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND HORD COPLAN MACHT ARCHITECTS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $47,580, RELATING TO THE EL PUEBLO PAVILION MASTER PLAN PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF CITY COUNCIL TO EXECUTE SAME WHEREAS, Hord Coplan Macht Architects, aka Slaterpaull Architects, have been selected to provide professional services for the El Pueblo Pavilion Master Plan Project; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The Agreement for Professional Architectural Services dated February 8, 2016, between the City of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and Hord Coplan Macht Architects of which a copy is attached hereto and on file at the office of the City Clerk, having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, is hereby approved. SECTION 2. The President of the City Council is hereby authorized to execute and deliver said Agreement on behalf of the City of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the Seal of the City thereto and attest same. SECTION 3. Funds in the amount of $47,580 for said professional services shall be paid from Capital Project PL1502. SECTION 4. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of the Resolution and Contract to effectuate the policies and procedures described therein. SECTION 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval. Nawrocki and Members of City Council CC: Sam Azad, City Manager VIA: Gina Dutcher, City Clerk FROM: Steven Meier, Director of Planning and Community Development SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES BETWEEN PUEBLO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND HORD COPLAN MACHT ARCHITECTS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $47,580, RELATING TO THE EL PUEBLO PAVILION MASTER PLAN PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF CITY COUNCIL TO EXECUTE SAME SUMMARY: Hord Coplan Macht Architects from Denver, Colorado, aka Slaterpaull Architects have been selected through a RFQ process with the City of Pueblo. HCM Architects were found to be the most responsive and lowest bidder to perform the professional services for the El Pueblo Pavilion Master Plan. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: The Pueblo City Council approved a Contract 2016-M1-010 with the State Historical Fund for the Project per Ordinance No. 8919 on September 14, 2015. The Contract was in the amount of $50,000 in which $35,000 was from the SHF, $5,001 was from the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority, $5,000 was from the City of Pueblo and $4,999 was from the El Pueblo Museum. All funds have been secured in Project No. PL1502. BACKGROUND: The purpose of this project is to create a site Master Plan to provide a road map for addressing the physical structure, archaeology/ collection, education, community engagement, and sustainability of the El Pueblo Archaeological Site in Pueblo, Colorado. The City Planning and Community Development will be managing this Project. The Project will start in May 2016 and will be complete by the end of the year. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds in the amount of $47,580 shall be paid from Capital Project No. PL1502. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: The Pueblo Historic Preservation Commission recommended the submittal of the application for funding. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: The El Pueblo Pavilion Committee was formed in 2013 and is comprised of the History Colorado, Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority and the City of Pueblo. ALTERNATIVES: Denial of this Resolution will result in cancellation of the Project. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution.
