AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ACCEPTING A STATE
OF COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND
ENVIRONMENT (CDPHE) GRANT, AND APPLICABLE
CONDITIONS PERTAINING THERETO, ESTABLISHING
PROJECT NO. PS1510 EMERGENCY MEDICAL AND
TRAUMA SERVICES (EMTS) GRANT, AND BUDGETING
AND APPROPRIATING GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT
OF $5,794.00 AND TRANSFERRING THE REQUIRED
TWENTY FIVE PERCENT MATCH OF $1931.00 FROM THE
PUBLIC SAFETY GRANTS FUND PROJECTS TO BE
DETERMINED FOR THE PURPOSES AUTHORIZED BY
THE GRANT AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the State of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
$
(CDHPE) has tendered a grant award to the City of Pueblo in the amount of 5,794.00, and
WHEREAS, acceptance of the award is in the best interest of the City; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The State of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDHPE) grant in
the amount of $5,794.00 and Grant Agreement Articles, true copies of which are attached hereto,
having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, are hereby approved and accepted.
SECTION 2.
Project No. PS1510 Emergency Medical and Trauma Services (EMTS) is hereby
$
established. The project amount of 7,724.00 is hereby budgeted and appropriated to Project
No. PS1510 for expenditure for the purposes authorized by the grant agreement.
SECTION 3.
The grant match amount will be transferred to Project No. PS1510 in the amount of
$1,931.00 from the public safety grant fund projects to be determined.
SECTION 4.
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Ordinance and the attached contract to effectuate the transactions
described there herein.
SECTION 5.
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached is Grant Agreement between the City of Pueblo and the State of Colorado Department
of Public Health and Environment (CDHPE) concerning a grant award in the amount of $5,794.00
to purchase and upgrade pediatric equipment.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None.
BACKGROUND:
The purpose of the Emergency Medical and Trauma Services (EMTS) grant is to provide funding,
in the amount of $5,794.00, directly to the City of Pueblo Fire Department in order to upgrade and
purchase trauma services equipment, by funding the purchase of pediatric IV emergency
equipment.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The anticipated total project cost is $7,724.00. The State of Colorado Department of Public Health
and Environment (CDHPE) share for the Emergency Medical and Trauma Services (EMTS) grant
is $5,794.00 and the twenty five percent City match is $1,931.00. The grant match amount will be
transferred to Project No. PS1510 from the public safety grant fund projects to be determined.
Staff time will be required for project management, as well as grant monitoring and reporting.
