HomeMy WebLinkAbout13329RESOLUTION NO. 13329 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $72,000 TO POTTER COMMERCIAL WALLS, INC. AND SETTING FORTH $13,000 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK FOR PROJECT NO. 15-054 – PUEBLO AIRPORT TERMINAL REMODEL-FINAL PHASE, AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for PROJECT NO. 15-054 – Pueblo Airport Terminal Remodel – Final Phase, have been received and examined; and WHEREAS, the proposal of Potter Commercial Walls, Inc. of Avondale, Colorado was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. A contract for PROJECT NO. 15-054 – Pueblo Airport Terminal Remodel – Final Phase is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $72,000.00. SECTION 2. In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. Contingencies and Additional Work . . . . $13,000.00 SECTION 3. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the Seal of the City thereto and attest the same: SECTION 4. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution and the attached contract/agreement to effectuate the transactions described therein. SECTION 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. AND SETTING FORTH $13,000 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK FOR PROJECT NO. 15-054 – PUEBLO AIRPORT TERMINAL REMODEL- FINAL PHASE, AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME SUMMARY: This Resolution awards a Construction Contract to Potter Commercial Walls, Inc. for the Pueblo Airport Terminal Remodel – Final Phase PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: On February 10, 2014, City Council passed Ordinance No. 8696 establishing Capital Project AP1401-Terminal Remodel and budgeting $150,000 to the project. BACKGROUND This project consists of the interior remodel of the Ticket Counter/Baggage Intake and surrounding areas of the Airport Terminal. The work was competitively bid through the City’s Purchasing Department, and a copy of the bid summary is attached. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds for this project will be paid out of AP1401. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: This contract is necessary to provide for flooring demolition and interior finish of the Ticket Counter / Baggage Intake and surrounding areas of the airport terminal. Denial of this Resolution will result in cancellation of the project and will cause a portion of the terminal to remain in an unfinished state. RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution.
