PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: In December 2014, City Council approved the annual Salary Ordinance for the 2015 fiscal year. BACKGROUND: Section 8-8 of the City Charter requires the Human Resources Director to provide a Uniform Schedule of Pay for the Classified Service, which shall be approved by the City Manager and submitted to City Council. If this Salary Ordinance does not receive approval by City Council, there will not be a pay rate or scale available to the Police Department and the department will be unable to hire for these positions in the future. Additionally, existing employees will have no designated pay scale. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Ordinance.
