SUMMARY:
This Resolution ratifies the appointments of five City County members to the Community
Services Advisory Commission
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Appointments to the CSAC are made on an annual basis selecting individuals to serve four-year
th
terms expiring on April 30 of each year.
BACKGROUND:
The Community Services Advisory Commission studies the needs of the community in the
areas of health and human services, recreation, arts and culture, environmental/conservation
and economic development; reviews and analyzes proposals that are submitted to the Pueblo
County and City of Pueblo Partnership during the annual Request for Proposal (RFP) process,
including conducting interviews and performing site visits of agencies submitting proposals;
makes final recommendations to the City and County officials for funding consideration on an
annual basis, or as needed in an emergency situation; and works on other issues and projects
as assigned to them by the Public Officials.
Due to the expiration of four 4-year terms and one vacancy that was created by a resignation,
there are a total of five City/County joint appointments that need to be made. Following the
PACOG meeting on April 23, 2015, members who were present selected the following
individuals for appointment:
Abel Laeke to fill the term expiring April 30, 2018, vacated due to the resignation of
Barbara Bernard
Kate Shafer – reappointment for a term expiring April 30, 2019

Cynthia Ortiz Fuentes - reappointment for a term expiring April 30, 2019
