AN ORDINANCE BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING A
GRANT FROM THE COLORADO HEALTH FOUNDATION FOR
THE COMPLETION OF THE DREW DIX PARK PLAYGROUND
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT – PHASE II, CAPITAL PROJECT
CI1110, IN THE AMOUNT OF $100,000
WHEREAS, The Colorado Health Foundation has approved a one-year grant for the
Drew Dix Park Playground Improvement Project – Phase II; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of the funding for the purposes for which it has been made
occurred by Resolution on March 9, 2015; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The Award of The Colorado Health Foundation grant to the City of Pueblo has previously
been accepted and approved by City Council on March 9, 2015.
SECTION 2.
The amount of $100,000.00 is hereby budgeted and appropriated to Project No. CI1110
for expenditure for the purposes authorized by the Grant Agreement.
SECTION 3.
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described
herein.
SECTION 4.
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
This Ordinance budgets and appropriates the Colorado Health Foundation grant award of
$100,000 for the completion of the Drew Dix Park Playground Improvement Project – Phase II,
Capital Project CI1110.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Grant award was previously approved and accepted by City Council on March 9, 2015 per
Resolution No. 13190.
BACKGROUND:
City Council previously approved and accepted the Colorado Health Foundation grant award of
$100,000 for the completion of the Drew Dix Park Playground Improvement Project – Phase II,
Capital Project CI1110 on March 9, 2015 per Resolution No. 13190. City Council must therefore
budget and appropriate by Ordinance in order for the awarded grant funds to be used for the
project.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Only financial impact would be staff time with oversight of the grant.

ALTERNATIVES:
Project would not be completed.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Ordinance.
