A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FILING OF A
CORPORATE GRANT APPLICATION TO THE LOWES
CORPORATION FOUNDATION BY THE CITY OF PUEBLO
POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo Police Department is requesting the City of
Pueblo submit an application to the Lowes Corporation Foundation for a $100,000
grant; and
WHEREAS, the funds from this grant will be utilized by the Police Department to
improve the Training Range to include fencing and securing the property and to provide
site improvements for SWAT officer training including obstacle trail mitigation, long rifle
range platforms, and permanent target stands to improve the training of police officers;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The grant application for $100,000, including all understandings and assurances
contained therein, is hereby approved and authorized to be filed with the Lowes
Corporation Foundation and the President of City Council is hereby authorized to
execute the grant application on behalf of the City of Pueblo.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and
all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and
procedures described herein.

SUMMARY:
The Pueblo Police Department has been approached by the management of the Pueblo
Northside Lowes, Inc. to apply for a grant not to exceed a $100,000.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
No previous action.
BACKGROUND:
The Pueblo Police Department seeks to apply for a grant to the Lowes Corporation Foundation
in the amount of $100,000 to improve the Training Range to include fencing and securing the
property and to provide site improvements for SWAT officer training including obstacle trail
mitigation, long rifle range platforms, and permanent target stands to improve the training of
police officers.

Awarded funds are to be expended one year from the date of the award notification
