SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE PUEBLO LIQUOR AND
BEER LICENSING BOARD
SUMMARY:
This Resolution appoints two members to the Pueblo Liquor and Beer Licensing Board. One
appointment to complete the term expiring August 1, 2018 and one for a full four-year term
expiring August 1, 2019.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Appointments to the Pueblo Liquor and Beer Licensing Board are made on an annual basis
st
selecting individuals to serve four-year terms expiring on August 1 of each year.
BACKGROUND:
There are two appointments for the Liquor and Beer Licensing Board. One due to the term
expiration of Board member Charles Pullaro, Jr. and one to fill the vacancy created by the
resignation of board Member Tom Rose. Mr. Pullaro does wish to be considered for
reappointment.
Due to the retirement of Tom Rose from a PERA entity, he was required to resign from the
Liquor Board. PERA Rules state that an individual must be disassociated with any PERA entity
for at least 30 days before being reinstated with another PERA entity. Because the members of
the Liquor Board receive compensation, it is subject to PERA rules. Mr. Rose’s 30 days away
th
from the City began June 1 through June 30 and he may continue as a member of the Board
as of July 1; therefore, he is reapplying to complete his term expiring August 1, 2018.
Following advertisements published in the Pueblo Chieftain on May 17, 2015 and an
announcement on the City Clerk’s webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, no
new applications were received
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Liquor and Beer Licensing Board Members receive as compensation $25.00 for each regular or
special meeting actually attended. The Chairman of the Board receives as additional
compensation the sum of $50.00 per month for each month of service as Chairman. These
monies are allocated in the City Clerk’s Office annual budget.
