HomeMy WebLinkAbout13243RESOLUTION NO. 13243 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $13,591.75 TO ROYAL ELECTRIC SERVICES, INC., FOR PROJECT NO. 15-012 (WWAN04) JAMES R. DIIORIO WATER RECLAMATION FACILITY REMOVE EXISTING EXIT SIGNS, FURNISH AND INSTALL NEW EXIT SIGNS PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, competitive bids for the Project No. 15-012 (WWAN04) James R. DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility Remove Existing, Furnish and Install New Exit Signs Project have been received and examined; and WHEREAS, the proposal of Royal Electric Services, Inc., of Pueblo, Colorado was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsive; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. This contract is for removing existing, furnishing and installing new exit signs at the James R. DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility in the City of Pueblo. Contract Agreement for James R. DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility Remove Existing, Furnish and Install New Exit Signs Project with Royal Electric, Inc., Project No. 15-012 (WWAN04) is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $13,591.75. SECTION 2. Funds for Project 15-012 (WWAN04) shall be from the Sewer User Fund. SECTION 3. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 4. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution and the contract to effectuate the transactions described therein. SECTION 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. DIIORIO WATER RECLAMATION FACILITY REMOVE EXISTING EXIT SIGNS, FURNISH AND INSTALL NEW EXIT SIGNS PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME SUMMARY: Attached is a Resolution awarding a construction contract to Royal Electric Services, Inc., for project No. 15-012 (WWAN04) James R. DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility Remove Existing, Furnish and Install New Exit Signs Project. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION : None BACKGROUND : The exit signs at the James R. DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility located throughout various buildings at the treatment plant have passed their warranty and in some cases are no longer working. In order to meet safety codes and provide a safer environment for our employees, they need to be replaced. The project will consist of proper removal and disposal of current signs, and furnishing and installation of new 38 Tritium Exit Signs. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS : The cost of the construction project was bid at $13,591.75. Funds are available from the Sewer User Fund and have been budgeted and appropriated to Project No. 15-012 (WWAN04). BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION : Not applicable STAKEHOLDER PROCESS : None ALTERNATIVES : Alternative No. 1 – No Action In the event of no action being taken, our employees could be put in a dangerous environment as well as our department potentially being fined for not meeting safety codes.
