AN ORDINANCE INCREASING PROJECT PL1306,
PUEBLO CITY HALL INTERIOR REHABILIATION AND
REMODEL PROJECT, BY THE AMOUNT OF $510,000
AND BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
Funds in the total amount of $510,000 shall be transferred from the interest
earnings of the 1992-2016 Sales and Use Tax Capital Improvement Project Fund in the
amount of $325,000, from the balance of funds from the sale of 3 Jetway in the amount
of $107,890, and from the General Fund Reserves in the amount of $77,110 and are
hereby budgeted and appropriated for the Pueblo City Hall Interior Rehabilitation and
Remodel Project, PL1306.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and
all acts consistent with the intent of the Ordinance to effectuate the policies and
procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and
approval.

SUBJECT: AN ORDINANCE INCREASING PROJECT PL1306, PUEBLO CITY HALL
INTERIOR REHABILIATION AND REMODEL PROJECT, BY THE
AMOUNT OF $510,000 AND BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING
FUNDS THEREFORE
SUMMARY:
The Pueblo City Hall Interior Rehabilitation and Remodel Project requires additional
funds in the amount of $510,000 to award a construction contract for the Project.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
The Pueblo City Council was awarded an Energy Mineral Impact Assistance Fund grant
from the State of Colorado, Department of Local Affairs in the amount of $600,000
relating to the Pueblo City Hall Renovation Project, Final Phase. The City provided the
local match in the amount of $500,000 along with accepting a $50,000 grant from the
Boetcher Foundation and a $50,000 grant from the David and Lucile Packard
Foundation for the City Hall Project.
BACKGROUND:
The City Planning and Public Works Departments are requesting an additional
$510,000 for the Pueblo City Hall Interior Rehabilitation and Remodel Project, PL1306
in order to award the construction contract. The $510,000 will count as a local match
for a recently submitted DOLA supplemental grant request for the Project. The Project
will complete the renovation and rehabilitation of the second floor, first floor and lower
level of City Hall. The Project construction is tentatively scheduled for June of 2015 with
the completion in December 2015.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The $510,000 to complete the award of the Project will be transferred from the following
sources:
1992-2016 Interest from Sales and Use Tax
Capital Improvement Project Fund $325,000
Remaining Balance from Sale of 3 Jetway $107,890
General Fund Reserves $ 77,110
Total $510,000
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
No Board or Commission recommendation. The City Manager and City Council has
been briefed on the progress of the Project.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
City Council and City staff are the Stakeholders.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Project would take longer and cost more money if the additional funds are not
approved.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Ordinance.
