HomeMy WebLinkAbout13207RESOLUTION NO. 13207 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2015 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE JUNETEENTH ORGANIZATION OF PUEBLO, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000 TO SPONSOR THE JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION “2015” BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Payment in the amount of $1,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2015 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to the Juneteenth Organization of Pueblo, Inc. for the sponsorship of the Juneteenth Celebration “2015” event to be held on June 20, 2015. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval. IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000 TO SPONSOR THE JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION “2015” SUMMARY: Attached is a request for a sponsorship for the Juneteenth Celebration to be held on June 20, 2015. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Payment of $2,000 was made in 2014 and 2013 from Council Contingencies. Prior to 2013, the Juneteenth organization was funded through a line item in the budget. BACKGROUND: Council Member John Cordova is requesting $1,000 to sponsor the Juneteenth Celebration “2015” event to be held on June 20, 2015. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds in the amount of $1,000 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2015 General Fund Budget to the Juneteenth Organization of Pueblo, Inc. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not Applicable. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not Applicable. ALTERNATIVES: City Council could choose not to fund this event for 2015. RECOMMENDATION: This Resolution is at the request of Council Member John Cordova.
