A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A
BUILDING PERMIT FOR THE SOUTHERN COLORADO
MEDICAL CENTER RESUBDIVISION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
Due to exigent circumstances, contemporaneously with the filing of a complete
subdivision application meeting all of the requirements of Chapter 4, Title XII of the Pueblo
Municipal Code as determined by the Director of Public Works (“Subdivision”) for the land
located at the 3600 Block of Parker Boulevard (“Property”), the City administration is hereby
authorized to approved the issuance of a building permit for a public building or structure to be
constructed or installed on the Property.
SECTION 2.
The building permit will be deemed revoked and cancelled if the owner of the Property
does not diligently pursue the Subdivision to final approval and recording on or before August
28, 2015. No final Certificate of Occupancy shall be issued for any building or structure
constructed or installed on the Property pursuant to the Building Permit until after the plat has
been recorded. The conditions, restrictions, and limitations set forth herein shall be
incorporated in and made a part of the Building Permit.
SECTION 3.
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described
herein.
SECTION 4.
This Resolution shall become effective upon final passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
This Resolution approves the issuance of a Building Permit to Southern Colorado Medical
Center.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None
BACKGROUND:
In an effort to expedite construction, a request has been made by Southern Colorado Medical
Center for approval by the City Council to allow staff to sign off on a building permit prior to a
recorded subdivision. This Resolution will authorize City administration to approve the issuance
of a building permit.
Said building permit will be revoked and cancelled if the owner of the property does not
diligently pursue the completion of the subdivision process. No final Certificate of Occupancy
shall be issued for any building or structure associated or installed on the property until after the
subdivision has been approved by the City Council and the plat has been recorded.

ALTERNATIVES:
Denying this Resolution would result in a slow-down of the development of the facility so that
they may not meet their projected start of business date.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Resolution.
