HomeMy WebLinkAbout13144RESOLUTION NO. 13144 A RESOLUTION FIXING AN ALTERNATE DAY FOR THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS CURRENTLY SCHEDULED FOR THE FOURTH MONDAY IN MAY AND THE SECOND MONDAY IN OCTOBER 2015 WHEREAS, the Regular City Council Meeting scheduled for the fourth Monday of May, 2015 falls on May 25, 2015; and WHEREAS, the Regular City Council Meeting scheduled for the second Monday of October, 2015 falls on October 12, 2015; and WHEREAS, May 25, 2015 is observed as Memorial Day, and October 12, 2015 is ; observed as Columbus Day, and both are legal holidays of the City of PuebloNOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1: Tuesday, May 26, 2015 is hereby fixed as the day for the Regular Meeting of the Pueblo City Council, originally scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2015. SECTION 2: Tuesday, October 13, 2015 is hereby fixed as the day for the Regular Meeting of the Pueblo City Council, originally scheduled for Monday, October 12, 2015. Nawrocki and Members of City Council CC: Sam Azad, City Manager VIA: Office of the City Clerk FROM: Gina Dutcher, City Clerk SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION FIXING AN ALTERNATE DAY FOR THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS CURRENTLY SCHEDULED FOR THE FOURTH MONDAY IN MAY AND THE SECOND MONDAY IN OCTOBER 2015 SUMMARY: This Resolution changes the dates of the two Regular City Council meetings currently scheduled for the fourth Monday in May and the second Monday in October in order to accommodate the 2015 City holiday schedule. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: A Resolution changing the dates for any Regular City Council Meeting that falls on a City Holiday during the year is prepared for the first meeting in January of each year. BACKGROUND: Per Section 3-15 of the City Charter, “If a regular meeting shall fall on or the evening before a City holiday, the City Council may by Resolution fix another day for such regular meeting.” Monday, May 25, 2015 is observed as Memorial Day, and Monday, October 12, 2015 is observed as Columbus Day, both recognized as City Holidays. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: None BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not Applicable for this Resolution STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not Applicable for this Resolution. ALTERNATIVES: If the two aforementioned meetings are not rescheduled by Resolution, the Regular Meetings shall be held on the date of the holiday. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution.
