HomeMy WebLinkAbout13143RESOLUTION NO. 13143 A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING A PUBLIC PLACE FOR THE POSTING OF NOTICE OF MEETINGS FOR ALL BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES OF THE PUEBLO CITY COUNCIL FOR THE YEAR 2015 WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 24-6-402(2)(c), C.R.S., any meetings at which the adoption of a proposed policy, position, resolution, rule, regulation or formal action occurs, or at which a majority or quorum of the body is in attendance, or is expected to be in attendance, shall be held only after full and timely notice is given to the public; and WHEREAS, the public place for posting such notice shall be designated annually at the local public body’s first regular meeting of each calendar year. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The bulletin board located in the lobby of the Pueblo Municipal Justice Center (Municipal Court Side), 200 S. Main Street, Pueblo, Colorado is hereby designated as the official bulletin board for the posting of meetings for all Boards, Commissions, and Committees of the City Council. The posting shall include specific agenda information when possible. SECTION 2. The notice of meetings shall be posted no less than twenty-four hours prior to the holding of the meeting. SECTION 3. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 4. This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval. Nawrocki and Members of City Council CC: Sam Azad, City Manager VIA: Office of the City Clerk FROM: Gina Dutcher, City Clerk SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING A PUBLIC PLACE FOR THE POSTING OF NOTICE OF MEETINGS FOR ALL BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES OF THE PUEBLO CITY COUNCIL FOR THE YEAR 2015 SUMMARY: This Resolution adopts a Resolution designating public places for the posting of notices of all meetings for all Boards, Commissions, and Committees of the City of Pueblo for the Year 2015. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: On May 12, 2014, City Council passed and approved Resolution No. 12965 which designated the Public Place for the posting of meetings for all Boards, Commissions, and Committees of the City of Pueblo as the lobby of the Pueblo Municipal Justice Center (Municipal Court Side), 200 S. Main Street, Pueblo, Colorado under the supervision of the City Clerk. BACKGROUND: Pursuant to 24-6-402(2)(c) C.R.S., any meetings at which the adoption of a proposed policy, position, resolution, rule, regulation or formal action occurs, or at which a majority or quorum of the body is in attendance, or is expected to be in attendance, shall be held only after full and timely notice is given to the public. The public place for posting such notice shall be designated annually at the local public body’s first regular meeting of each calendar year. Traditionally City Hall has been the designated public place for the posting of notice of meetings, specifically the bulletin board on the first floor; however, during the renovation of City Hall the designated public place within the boundaries of the City of Pueblo for posting of notice of all meetings has been the official bulletin board located in the lobby of the Pueblo Municipal Justice Center (Municipal Court Side), 200 S. Main Street, Pueblo, Colorado under the supervision of the City Clerk. This location will remain until the Office of the City Clerk is moved back into City Hall. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: None BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not Applicable for this Resolution. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not Applicable for this Resolution. ALTERNATIVES: Designate a different location as the official bulletin board. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution Attachments: None
