RESOLUTION NO. 13101
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE PUEBLO
HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that:
SECTION 1
The following individual is hereby appointed to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission
- City Appointment to complete a three-year term expiring December 31, 2016:
Robert Long
SECTION 2
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described
herein.
SECTION 3
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
This Resolution shall appoint a member to the Human Relations Commission – City
appointment to complete a three-year term expiring December 31, 2016.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Appointments to the Human Relations Commission are made on an annual basis selecting
st
individuals to serve three-year terms expiring on December 31 of each year.
BACKGROUND:
Due to the resignation of Member Kirk Cree, there is one appointment on the Human Relations
Commission – City appointment to complete the three-year term expiring December 31, 2016.
Following an advertisement published in the Pueblo Chieftain on September 14, 2014 and an
announcement on the City Clerk’s webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this committee,
applications were received from the following individuals to complete the term expiring
December 31, 2016:
Robert Long New, Resident of the County of Pueblo
Robert Cooper New, Resident of the County of Pueblo
Arthur Benfield New, Resident of the City of Pueblo
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This is a volunteer committee, no compensation is given.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
Council members Steve Nawrocki and Sandy Daff reviewed applications, interviewed the
candidates, and recommend Robert Long for appointment.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None
ALTERNATIVES:
Council could remove the Resolution from the Agenda, request that the recruitment process be
extended, and order the public notice for applications be republished in order to receive
additional applications for consideration.
