A RESOLUTION APPOINTING WILLIAM A. MARTINEZ AS
MUNICIPAL JUDGE FOR A TWO-YEAR TERM EXPIRING
OCTOBER 26, 2016
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
William A. Martinez is hereby appointed effective October 27, 2014, as the
Presiding Municipal Judge of the Municipal Court for the City of Pueblo for a two-year
term expiring on October 26, 2016. He shall act as Municipal Court Administrator and
shall supervise all Municipal Court personnel. He shall receive compensation
determined and fixed by the City Council.
SECTION 2.
The officers of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures
described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage.

SUMMARY:
This Resolution appoints William A. Martinez as Presiding Municipal Judge to a two-year term
expiring October 26, 2016.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Resolution No. 12442 (June 25, 2012) appointing William A. Martinez as Presiding Municipal
Judge to fill the remainder of term expiring October 26, 2012.
Resolution No. 12529 (October 22, 2012) appointing William A. Martinez as Presiding Municipal
Judge for a two year term expiring October 26, 2014.
BACKGROUND:
William A. Martinez was appointed as the Presiding Municipal Judge for a two-year term which
expires on October 26, 2014 and after which there will be no Presiding Municipal Judge without
City Council action.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
None.

ALTERNATIVES:
Authorize the President of the City Council appoint a temporary substitute judge prior to October
27, 2014 in order to advertise the position and review applications.
