A RESOLUTION AWARDING A DEMOLITION CONTRACT IN
THE AMOUNT OF $33,600 FOR PROJECT NO. 14-046

AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE
THE SAME

WHEREAS, proposals for Project No. 14-046 Demolition of 731 E 3 Street, (Lot 16
Block 26 East Pueblo) have been received and examined; and
WHEREAS, the proposal of Dirt N Demo, Inc. was the lowest of those bids determined
to be responsible; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.

A contract for Project No. 14-046 Demolition of 731 E 3 Street is hereby awarded to
said bidder in the amount of $33,600.
SECTION 2.
In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount
as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work.
Contingencies and Additional Work…. $5,040.
SECTION 3.
Funds for said project shall be paid out of Neighborhood Stabilization Program 3, NSP3
Fund 241.
SECTION 4
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo,
a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the
same.
SECTION 5
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Resolution and the attached contract/agreement to effectuate
the transactions described therein.
SECTION 6
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.

There has been no previous Council action on this issue.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Pueblo has received Neighborhood Stabilization Program 3 (NSP3) grant funding.

The Department of Housing and Citizen Services purchased a property at 731 E 3 Street (Lot
16 Block 26 East Pueblo) under the Housing Redevelopment component. The property will be
demolished.
The work was competitively bid through the City’s Purchasing Department, and a copy of the bid
summary is attached.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds for the Project will be paid from Neighborhood Stabilization Program 3 funds, which are
available in NSP3 Fund 241.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
Not Applicable.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
Not Applicable.
ALTERNATIVES:
Denial of this Resolution will result in cancellation of the project.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.
