A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $78,039 TO PUEBLO
ELECTRICS, INC., FOR PROJECT NO. 14-049 PUEBLO
MEMORIAL HALL EXTERIOR LIGHTING PROJECT, AND
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE
THE SAME
WHEREAS, Proposals for Project 14-049, Pueblo Memorial Hall Exterior Lighting
Project have been received and examined, and;
WHEREAS, the proposal of Pueblo Electrics, Inc. of Pueblo, Colorado was the
lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
A contract for Project 14-049, Pueblo Memorial Hall Exterior Lighting Project is
hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $78,039.
SECTION 2.
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of
Pueblo, A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City
thereto and attest the same.
SECTION 3.
In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional
amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and
additional work.
Contingencies and Additional Work…..$15,600.
SECTION 4.
Funds for said Project shall be paid pursuant to an Agreement with the Pueblo
Urban Renewal Authority.
SECTION 5.
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and
all acts consistent with the intent of the Resolution and Contract to effectuate the
policies and procedures described therein.
SECTION 6.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage and
approval.

14-049 PUEBLO MEMORIAL HALL EXTERIOR LIGHTING PROJECT, AND
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME
SUMMARY:
Attached is the Bid Summary for the Pueblo Memorial Hall Exterior Lighting Project.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
The Pueblo City Council awarded a construction contract for the Pueblo Memorial Hall:
Expansion and Renovation on April 9, 2012.
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Planning and Community Development has obtained funding for all
bid alternates enhancements to Memorial Hall and will now complete the exterior
lighting. An existing Design and Construction Agreement with the Pueblo Urban
Renewal Authority allows the funds to be paid for from an existing donation account.
The Base Bid includes lighting which consists of 13 pole mounted accent lights, five (5)
surface mounted accent lights, and nine (9) sidewalk bollard lights. The Bid Alternate
#1 includes lighting for the Memorial Hall building sign on Main Street. Bid Alternate #2
was over budget and was not selected. The lighting system will have the ability to
illuminate white and different color light for seasonal events. Construction is anticipated
to begin this Fall and be completed in maximum of 90 days.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $78,039 for furnishing and installation of the exterior lighting and
$15,600 for contingency will be paid pursuant to a Design and Construction Agreement
with the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
No Board or Commission recommendation. The City Manager and City Council have
been briefed on the progress of the Project.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
The Memorial Hall Stakeholders committee has been formed to include interested
people and organizations in the community.
ALTERNATIVES:
Denial of this Resolution will result in cancellation of the Project.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Resolution.
