A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE PUEBLO
HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION – JOINT CITY-COUNTY
YOUTH APPOINTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that:
SECTION 1.

Ryan Madic is hereby appointed to the Pueblo Human Relations CommissionJoint
City/County Youth Appointment to complete a one-year term expiring December 31, 2014.
SECTION 2
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all
acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures
described herein.
SECTION 3
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.

A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE PUEBLO HUMAN
SUBJECT:
RELATIONS COMMISSION – JOINT CITY-COUNTY YOUTH APPOINTMENT
SUMMARY:
This Resolution ratifies the Joint City-County Youth Appointment to the Pueblo Human
Relations Commission. Applications were reviewed following the PACOG meeting held on
July 24, 2014.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Appointments to the Pueblo Human Relations Joint City-County Youth Commission are
made on an annual basis selecting individuals to serve one-year terms expiring on
st
December 31 of each year.
BACKGROUND:
Due to the resignation of youth member Anthony Vigil-Martinez, there is one appointment
on the Pueblo Human Relations Commission Joint City-County Youth Appointment to
complete the term expiring on December 31, 2014.
Following advertisements published in the Pueblo Chieftain on April 27, 2014 and an
announcement on the City Clerk’s webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this
committee. Applications were received from the following individuals:
Ryan Madic - New, Resident of the City of Pueblo
Blaze Johnson - New, Resident of the City of Pueblo
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
Resolution 12728 implemented an interview process for the applicants of the Pueblo
Human Relations Commission Youth Joint – City/County appointment. Council members
Steve Nawrocki and Sandy Daff reviewed applications, interviewed the candidates, and
recommend Ryan Madic for the Youth Appointment.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None
ALTERNATIVES:
City Council in agreement with the County Commissioners could remove the Resolution
from the Agenda, request that the recruitment process be extended in order to receive
additional applications for consideration.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.
