A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $27,148.30 TO CEDAR
RIDGE LANDSCAPE, INC., AND SETTING FORTH $6,000
FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK FOR
PROJECT NO. 14-043 EAST SIDE LIBRARY STREET
IMPROVEMENTS (CDBG), CONTINGENT UPON
COUNCIL APPROVAL OF AN ORDINANCE APPROVING
AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF GRANT
AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE CITY OF PUEBLO AND
THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN
DEVELOPMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING
AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME
WHEREAS, proposals for PROJECT NO. 14-043 East Side Library Street
Improvements have been received and examined, and;
WHEREAS, the proposal of Cedar Ridge Landscape, Inc., of Pueblo, Colorado
was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
A contract for PROJECT NO. 14-043 East Side Library Street Improvements is
hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $27,148.30.
SECTION 2.
In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional
amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and
additional work.
Contingencies and Additional Work . . . . $6,000
SECTION 3.
Funds for said project shall be from Project Code CD1409 – East Side Library
Improvements.
SECTION 4.
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of
Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City
thereto and attest the same.
SECTION 5.
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and
all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution and the attached contract/agreement
to effectuate the transactions described therein.
SECTION 6.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached is the Bid Summary for the East Side Library Street Improvements (CDBG).
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None.
BACKGROUND:
This project will consist of the construction of sidewalks, curb and gutter, and
th
landscaping within the street right of way at the northwest corner of East 7 Street and
North Monument Avenue.
The work was competitively bid through the City’s Purchasing Department, and a copy
of the bid summary is attached.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds for the Project will be paid out of CD1409 – East Side Library Improvements.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
None.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None.
ALTERNATIVES:
Denial of this Resolution will result in cancellation of the project.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of this Resolution.
