Re: Art and Soul of Pueblo Street Gallery Donation
Dear Mr. Azad;
As previously conveyed to you via email on June 11, 2014, the downtown Art and Soul of Pueblo Street
Gallery is being discontinued. Please consider this letter as a formal request for the City of Pueblo to
accept a donation of four sculptures and pedestals from the Art and Soul of Pueblo Street Gallery.
The sculptures that will be donated to the City are depicted in the brochure accompanying this letter.
They are:
• Hot Stuff, by Andrew Morris, currently in the parking lot at 4th and Santa Fe. (Donated by the
artist)
• Story Time the Essential Hours, by Ted Bueno, located near the northwest corner of First and
Santa Fe. (Purchased and donated by the Ray Herrick family.)
• Takin' Care of Business by George Manus, located on the northwest corner of 3rd and Main.
(Donated by the artist)
• Clearwater by Loretta Medina, located on the southeast corner of 2nd and Main. (Purchased and
donated by Judy McGinnis.)
There are three sculptures in the Art and Soul exhibit area that are already owned by the City.
They are:
Moon Creature by Reven Swanson, located in the median on Union near First Street
• In the Straight Away by Richard Montano, located on the northeast corner of First and Santa Fe.
• Kitty Karma by Jane Rankin, currently on the southwest corner of 2nd and Santa Fe.
In addition to the sculptures, we are willing to donate four steel pedestals on which some of the pieces
are currently attached. (The four pedestals are those holding Kitty Karma; Takin'Care of Business;
Clearwater, and Hot Stuff.) However, we would ask that if the City does not need or want to use the
pedestals now or in the near future that they be returned to the Downtown Association. We would also
request that the sculptures remain in the downtown area.
Please let me know at your earliest convenience if the City will accept the donation. Art and Soul will no
longer have insurance on any of the sculptures after June 18th, so if the City declines, we will attempt to
sell or donate them to another entity.
Please contact me with any questions at 719 582 0682.
Slcerely,
Peggy illcox
