A RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 12978
AND AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE
AMOUNT OF $45,813.25 TO DOUG VAUGHN, LLC AND
SETTING FORTH $8,000 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND
ADDITIONAL WORK FOR PROJECT NO. 14-035
EAGLERIDGE BOULEVARD CURB RAMPS, CURB AND
GUTTER, AND SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION, AND
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE
THE SAME
WHEREAS, proposals for PROJECT NO. 14-035 EAGLERIDGE BOULEVARD
CURB RAMPS, CURB AND GUTTER, AND SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION have been
received and examined, and;
WHEREAS, the proposal of Doug Vaughn, LLC, of Pueblo, Colorado was the
lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
A contract for PROJECT NO. 14-035 EAGLERIDGE BOULEVARD CURB
RAMPS, CURB AND GUTTER, AND SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION is hereby awarded
to said bidder in the amount of $45,813.25.
SECTION 2.
In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional
amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and
additional work.
Contingencies and Additional Work . . . . $8,000
SECTION 3.
Funds for said project shall be from Project Code HUAN01 – STREET
RESURFACING
SECTION 4.
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of
Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City
thereto and attest the same.
SECTION 5.
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and
all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution and the attached contract/agreement
to effectuate the transactions described therein.
SECTION 6.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached is the Bid Summary for the Eagleridge Boulevard Curb Ramps, Curb and
Gutter, and Sidewalk Construction project.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
On June 9, 2014 City Council passed and approved Resolution No. 12978 which
awarded a construction contract to Gonzalez Landscape & Concrete for Project No. 14-
035 Eagleridge Boulevard Curb Ramps, Curb and Gutter, and Sidewalk Construction.
BACKGROUND:
This project will consist of the construction of curb ramps, curb and gutter, and sidewalk
on Eagleridge Boulevard between Ridge Drive and Pioneer Road. Construction
includes the removal of asphalt and curb and gutter, the construction of A.D.A.
compliant concrete curb ramps, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, and other
incidentals related to the construction of the project. These improvements are needed
prior to resurfacing the asphalt roadway. The resurfacing will be done in a future
project.
Gonzalez Landscape & Concrete was originally awarded the contract for the Eagleridge
Boulevard Curb Ramps, Curb and Gutter, and Sidewalk project; however, they were
unable to meet the obligations of the contract.
The work was competitively bid through the City’s Purchasing Department, and a copy
of the bid summary is attached.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds for the Project will be paid out of HUAN01 – Street Resurfacing.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
None.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None.
ALTERNATIVES:
Denial of this Resolution will result in cancellation of the project.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of this Resolution.
