HomeMy WebLinkAbout13000 RESOLUTION NO. 13000 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PUEBLO BOARD OF DIRECTORS BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, THAT: SECTION 1 Jack Quinn is hereby appointed to the Housing Authority of the City of Pueblo Board of Directors for a five-year term expiring July 1, 2019. SECTION 2 The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3 This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. Daff and Members of City Council CC: Sam Azad, City Manager VIA: City Clerk’s Office FROM: Gina Dutcher, City Clerk A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE HOUSING AUTHORITY SUBJECT: OF THE CITY OF PUEBLO BOARD OF DIRECTORS SUMMARY: This Resolution appoints member to the Housing Authority of the City of Pueblo Board of Directors for a five-year term expiring July 1, 2019. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Appointments to the Housing Authority Board are made on an annual basis selecting individuals st to serve four-year terms expiring on July 1 of each year. BACKGROUND: Due to the term expiration of Board Member Robert Cook, there is one appointment on the Housing Authority Board of Directors. Mr. Cook does not wish to be considered for reappointment. Following an advertisement published in the Pueblo Chieftain on May 25, 2014 and an announcement on the City Clerk’s webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this committee. An application was received from the following individual: Jack Quinn New, Resident of the City of Pueblo  Mr. Quinn is also a member of the Sister Cities Commission and his term expires on March 1, 2015. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None ALTERNATIVES: Council could remove the Resolution from the Agenda, request that the recruitment process be extended, and order the public notice for applications be republished in order to receive additional applications for consideration.
