HomeMy WebLinkAbout12965 RESOLUTION NO. 12965 A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING A PUBLIC PLACE FOR THE POSTING OF NOTICE OF MEETINGS FOR ALL BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES OF THE CITY OF PUEBLO WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 24-6-402(2)(c), C.R.S., any meetings at which the adoption of a proposed policy, position, resolution, rule, regulation or formal action occurs, or at which a majority or quorum of the body is in attendance, or is expected to be in attendance, shall be held only after full and timely notice is given to the public; and WHEREAS, the public place for posting such notice shall be designated annually at the local public body’s first regular meeting of each calendar year. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1: The bulletin board located in the lobby of the Pueblo Municipal Justice Center (Municipal Court Side), 200 S. Main Street, Pueblo, Colorado, is hereby designated as the public place for posting of notice of meetings for all Boards, Commissions, and Committees. The posting shall include specific agenda information where possible. SECTION 2: The notice of meetings shall be posted no less than twenty-four hours prior to the holding of the meeting. SECTION 3. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 4. This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: On January 14, 2014, City Council passed and approved Resolution No. 12867, which designated the Public Place for the Posting of Notices of Meetings as the lobby of the Pueblo Municipal Justice Center (Municipal Court Side), 200 S. Main Street, Pueblo, Colorado for the posting of notice of all meetings of the City Council and of all other boards, commissions, and committees of the City of Pueblo. BACKGROUND: Pursuant to 24-6-402(2)(c) C.R.S., any meetings at which the adoption of a proposed policy, position, resolution, rule, regulation or formal action occurs, or at which a majority or quorum of the body is in attendance, or is expected to be in attendance, shall be held only after full and timely notice is given to the public. The public place for posting such notice shall be designated annually at the local public body’s first regular meeting of each calendar year. Traditionally, City Hall has been the designated public place for the posting of notice of meetings, specifically the bulletin board on the first floor; however, during the renovation of City Hall the designated public place within the boundaries of the City of Pueblo for posting of notice of all meetings has been the official bulletin board located in the lobby of the Pueblo Municipal Justice Center (Municipal Court Side), 200 S. Main Street, Pueblo, Colorado. This location will remain until the Office of the City Clerk is moved back into City Hall.
