AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING CAPITAL PROJECT DT1401
FOR THE PUEBLO WAYFINDING SIGNS PHASE II PROJECT
AND APPROVING A CONTRACT, M086-067 (19287) BETWEEN
THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND
THE CITY OF PUEBLO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION,
BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS IN THE TOTAL
AMOUNT OF $41,300 AND TRANSFERRING BUDGET OF
$10,325 FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS,
TRAFFIC DIVISION AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF
CITY COUNCIL TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS, the State of Colorado, Department of Transportation, has offered funds
through Contract M086-067 (19287) – Pueblo Wayfinding Signs Phase II Project;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The Contract between Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the State of Colorado, for
Project M086-067 (19287) (hereinafter referred to as the “Contract”), a copy of which is
attached, having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, is hereby approved.
SECTION 2.
Capital Project No. DT1401 is hereby established. Subject to encumbrances by the
Colorado Department of Transportation, funds from M086-067 (19287), the amount $41,300
and City in-kind match of $10,325 for a total project budget of $51,625 is hereby budgeted and
appropriated for the Pueblo Wayfinding Signs Phase II Project, Project No. DT1401.
SECTION 3.
Funds in the amount of $6,100 shall be transferred from account No. 101-4070-430.60-
12, $850 from account No. 101-4070-430.10-40 and $300 from account No. 101-4010-430.10-
10 and $550 from account No. 101-4010-430.10-40.
SECTION 4.
The President of the City Council is authorized to execute and deliver the Contract in the
name of the City and the City Clerk is directed to affix the seal of the City thereto.
SECTION 5.
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Ordinance and the attached contract to effectuate the
transactions described therein.
SECTION 6.
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval.

ISSUE
Should City Council approve a Contract between the Colorado Department of Transportation and the
City of Pueblo, Pueblo Wayfinding Signs Phase II Project, Project No. DT1401?
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the Ordinance.
BACKGROUND
The project is a continuation of installation of the wayfinding signs at various locations on Pueblo
Blvd. providing tourists with direction to area attractions and destinations. The wayfinding signs will
be identical to the purple wayfinding signs installed in the downtown area in 2010.
Federal funds in the amount of $41,300 have been made available by the Transportation
Enhancement Grant program from the Colorado Department of Transportation. The local match is in
the amount of $10,325, which will be matched with in-kind material and labor. The total project
budget is $51,625. The project will be managed by the City of Pueblo.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds in the amount of $41,300 shall be budgeted and appropriated for the Pueblo Wayfinding
and
Signs Phase II Project, Project, No. DT1401 from the Colorado Department of Transportation
budget of $10,325 will be transferred from the Department of Public Works, Traffic Maintenance
Division.
