TITLE
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING CAPITAL PROJECT NO. AP1401-TERMINAL
REMODEL AND BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING $150,000 FROM THE AIRPORT
RESERVES INTO CAPITAL PROJECT NO. AP1401-TERMINAL REMODEL FOR THE
REMODELING OF THE AIRPORT TERMINAL BUILDING
ISSUE
Should City Council establish a Capital Project and budget and appropriate funds into it for the
remodeling of the Airport Terminal building?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Ordinance.
BACKGROUND
In 2010, the screening room in the Airport Terminal building was expanded for Allegiant
Airlines taking up most of the lobby space in the building. Because of this expansion, the lobby
and ticket counter areas are overcrowded during flight times, especially with larger flights. The
Federal government has entered into an agreement with SkyWest Airlines to take over the
Essential Air Service out of Pueblo beginning April 1, 2014. SkyWest Airlines will be utilizing
larger aircraft that will accommodate more passengers.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds in the amount of $150,000 will be budgeted and appropriated from the Airport Reserves.
