TITLE
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE PUEBLO URBAN RENEWAL
AUTHORITY
ISSUE
Should City Council appoint members to the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority for five-year
terms expiring February 1, 2019?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of the Resolution.
BACKGROUND
Due to the term expirations of members Cherie Sather, Elizabeth Gladney and Betty
Martinez there are three appointments to be filled for five-year terms expiring February 1,
2019, on the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority.
Resolution 12728 implemented an interview process for the applicants of the Pueblo
Urban Renewal Authority. Due to end of year schedules, Council members Chris Kaufman
and Chris Nicoll did not have an opportunity to reviewed the applications or interview the
candidates.
Following an advertisement published in The Pueblo Chieftain on Sunday, December 22,
2013 and an announcement on the City Clerk’s web page seeking volunteers to serve on
this committee, applications were received from the following individuals:
Cherie Sather – Incumbent, Resident of the City of Pueblo
Elizabeth Gladney -- Incumbent, Resident of the City of Pueblo
Betty Martinez -- Incumbent, Resident of the City of Pueblo
Simon Tearpak – New, Resident of the City of Pueblo
FINANCIAL IMPACT
This is a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation.
