HomeMy WebLinkAbout12890RESOLUTION NO. 12890 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE PUEBLO URBAN RENEWAL AUTHORITY BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: The following individuals are hereby appointed to the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority for five-year terms expiring February 1, 2019. Elizabeth Gladney Betty Martinez Simon Tearpak SECTION 2 The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3 This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. RECOMMENDATION Approval of the Resolution. BACKGROUND Due to the term expirations of members Cherie Sather, Elizabeth Gladney and Betty Martinez there are three appointments to be filled for five-year terms expiring February 1, 2019, on the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority. Resolution 12728 implemented an interview process for the applicants of the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority. Due to end of year schedules, Council members Chris Kaufman and Chris Nicoll did not have an opportunity to reviewed the applications or interview the candidates. Following an advertisement published in The Pueblo Chieftain on Sunday, December 22, 2013 and an announcement on the City Clerk’s web page seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, applications were received from the following individuals:  Cherie Sather – Incumbent, Resident of the City of Pueblo  Elizabeth Gladney -- Incumbent, Resident of the City of Pueblo  Betty Martinez -- Incumbent, Resident of the City of Pueblo  Simon Tearpak – New, Resident of the City of Pueblo FINANCIAL IMPACT This is a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation.
