TITLE:
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF MATCHING FUNDS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $6,750 FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE
2013 GENERAL FUND BUDGET FOR THE DOWNTOWN PUEBLO HISTORIC
SURVEY PROJECT—PL1312
ISSUE:
Should the City Council approve a Resolution authorizing the transfer of matching funds
in the amount of $6,750 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2013 General
Fund Budget to the Downtown Pueblo Historic Survey Project—PL1312?
RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is at the request of City Council Member Ami Nawrocki.
BACKGROUND:
The City has received a $26,250 grant from the State Historical Fund to conduct a
Downtown Pueblo Historic Survey. The purpose of the survey is to create a historic
context, identify a likely National Register Historic District boundary, and complete site
forms on properties that may be rehabilitation ready to incentivize potential developers
with historic tax credits.
The total grant match is $8,750 for a project total of $35,000 to complete the survey,
with the City contributing $6,750. The remaining $2,000 match is being provided by four
organizations at $500 each: Historic Pueblo Inc., Downtown Association, City Center
Partnership, and Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority. The money will be transferred to
project number PL1312. The ordinance to approve the contract from the State Historical
Fund will come before City Council in January 2014, and the cash match from the
partner associations will be available in early January as well.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Funds in an amount of $6,750 would be transferred from the Council Contingencies
Account in the 2013 General Fund Budget to the Downtown Pueblo Historic Survey
Project—PL1312. The remaining $2,000 grant match is being provided by four
community organizations at $500 each.
