HomeMy WebLinkAbout12860RESOLUTION NO. 12860 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2013 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE PUEBLO CHIEFTAIN IN THE AMOUNT OF $300 AND TO POLITE SOUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $600 TO ADVERTISE AND PROVIDE A SOUND SYSTEM FOR THE COLORADO SMELTER STRATEGY AND PLANNING MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 10, 2013 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Payment in the amount of $300 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2013 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to The Pueblo Chieftain for the advertisement for the Colorado Smelter Strategy and Planning meeting held on December 10, 2013. SECTION 2. Payment in the amount of $600 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2013 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Polite Sound for the sound system provided for the Colorado Smelter Strategy and Planning meeting held on December 10, 2013. SECTION 3. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 4. This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval. INTRODUCED: December 23, 2013 BY: Chris Nicoll Background Paper for Proposed RESOLUTION DATE: AGENDA ITEM #M-11 December 23, 2013 DEPARTMENT: City Council TITLE: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2013 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE PUEBLO CHIEFTAIN IN THE AMOUNT OF $300 AND TO POLITE SOUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $600 TO ADVERTISE AND PROVIDE A SOUND SYSTEM FOR THE COLORADO SMELTER STRATEGY AND PLANNING MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 10, 2013 ISSUE: Should the City Council approve a Resolution authorizing the payment of $900 from the Council Contingencies Account to pay for an advertisement in the Pueblo Chieftain and for the sound system for the Colorado Smelter Strategy and Planning meeting held on December 10, 2013? RECOMMENDATION: This Resolution is at the request of City Council Member Chris Nicoll. BACKGROUND: The Colorado Smelter Strategy and Planning meeting was held on December 10, 2013. An advertisement for the meeting was placed in the Pueblo Chieftain, and a sound system was required for the meeting. The City of Pueblo will pay the vendors for their services, and Pueblo County will be billed for half of the costs incurred. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funds in the total amount of $900 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2013 General Fund Budget in the following manner: $300 to the Pueblo Chieftain and $600 to Polite Sound.
