HomeMy WebLinkAbout12849RESOLUTION NO. 12849 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2013 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE PUEBLO SUICIDE PREVENTION CENTER IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000 TO ASSIST IN MAINTAINING SERVICES IN THE COMMUNITY BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Payment in the amount of $1,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2013 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to the Pueblo Suicide Prevention Center to assist in maintaining services in the community. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval. INTRODUCED: December 9, 2013 BY: Chris Kaufman Background Paper for Proposed RESOLUTION DATE: AGENDA ITEM # M-13 December 9, 2013 DEPARTMENT: City Council TITLE: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2013 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE PUEBLO SUICIDE PREVENTION CENTER IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000 TO ASSIST IN MAINTAINING SERVICES IN THE COMMUNITY ISSUE: Should the City Council approve a Resolution authorizing the payment of $1,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2013 General Fund Budget to the Pueblo Suicide Prevention Center to assist in maintaining services in the community? RECOMMENDATION: This Resolution is at the request of City Council Member Sandy Daff. BACKGROUND: The Pueblo Suicide Prevention Center has been in existence for 45 years and has assisted numerous individuals in crisis. Maintaining services comes at a great monetary cost. The technology to keep its services up and running is well over $10,000 per year. This funding would support the agency in its mission to serve the community. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funds in the amount of $1,000 will be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2013 General Fund Budget to the Pueblo Suicide Prevention Center.
