RECOMMENDATION
The Department recommends approval of this Ordinance.
BACKGROUND
City Council previously approved a Memorandum of Agreement between the City of
Pueblo and Crossroads Turning Points, Inc. (“Crossroads”) relating to the Colorado
Prevention Partnership for Success (“CPPS”) Grant on September 24, 2012. The
Agreement allows the City of Pueblo, through its Police Department, to partner with
Crossroads to promote the prevention of substance abuse in Pueblo, particularly
underage drinking and binge drinking. Crossroads acts as the fiscal agent for the grant
funds. The Agreement provides that Crossroads shall pay up to $62,400 annually to the
City of Pueblo Police Department to reimburse it for its underage drinking enforcement
efforts. From October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013, the Police Department
received $44,400 in grant funds. This Ordinance budgets and appropriates an amount
of $30,000 to Project PD1207 for the period October 1, 2013 through September 30,
2014.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no City match required for this grant.
