AP1202- TRAINING RUNWAY PHASE II TO $8,266,731 ISSUE Should City Council approve an ordinance increasing the funding amount in Capital Project No. AP1202? RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Ordinance. BACKGROUND The City accepted an FAA grant to fund 95% of the project costs for the paving and lighting of a new training runway and associated taxiways and a State grant to pay for 2.5% of the project. The City is responsible for the remaining 2.5% of project costs. The FAA issued an amendment that increased the funding amount of the grant which increased the State’s and City’s funding amount. The FAA grant amendment and the City’s matching funds are being budgeted and appropriated under a separate Ordinance. An amendment has been requested from the State for an additional $14,549 and the State has indicated that it will issue an amendment to its grant in the next grant cycle with the understanding that the amendment will be for $14,549 and will reimburse the City so the project can be completed and closed now. In the meantime, the City will fund the State’s $14,549 from the 715 Fund-Customer Deposits. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds in the amount of $14,549 will be transferred from the 715 Fund-Customer Deposits to Capital Project No. AP1202-Training Runway Phase II.
