AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6-5-16 OF CHAPTER 5, OF TITLE VI OF THE
PUEBLO MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE FY 2013 CLASSIFICATION AND
PAY PLAN BY ADDING THE POSITIONS OF WATER RECLAMATION WORKER,
WASTEWATER UTILITY WORKER AND SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
ISSUE
Should City Council amend the 2013 Classification and Pay Plan reflecting the addition
of the position titles and pay scales for the Water Reclamation Worker, Wastewater
Utility Worker and System Administrator and removing the position title and pay scale
for the Network Administrator?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of the Ordinance.
BACKGROUND
Section 8-8 of the City Charter requires the Human Resources Director to provide a
Uniform Schedule of Pay for the Classified Service, which shall be approved by the City
Manager and submitted to City Council. As submitted, the Pay Schedule adds the
Water Reclamation Worker, Wastewater Utility Worker and System Administrator pay
rates and scales, and removes the position title and pay scale of the Network
Administrator.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding for the position of Network Administrator was appropriated in the 2013 budget.
The difference in salary of Network Administrator and the System Administrator position
will be covered by salary savings for the remainder of 2013 and will be appropriated in
the 2014 Information Technology Department budget.
There will be no net change in the Wastewater Department’s operating costs as a result
of this staffing adjustment. Funds for salaries and benefits were appropriated in the
2013 Wastewater Department budget.
