A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING WAL-MART FOUNDATION
FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000 FOR THE LOCAL
COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION PROGRAM, ESTABLISHING
PROJECT NUMBER PD1308, AND AUTHORIZING THE
TRANSFER OF FUNDS THEREFOR
WHEREAS, the City Council of Pueblo has the authority on behalf of the City of Pueblo,
including its Police Department, to accept funding from the Wal-Mart Foundation for public and
municipal purposes, and
WHEREAS, the Wal-Mart Foundation has tendered Local Community Contribution
Program funding that will not exceed the amount of $1,000, and
WHEREAS, acceptance of the funding for the purposes for which it has been made is in
the best interest of the City and will benefit the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of the
City; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The Award of the Local Community Contribution Program funding to the City of Pueblo is
hereby accepted and approved effective as of August 12, 2013.
SECTION 2.
Project Number PD1308, Local Community Contribution Program, is hereby established
in the Police Grants Fund.
SECTION 3.
The amount of $1,000 is hereby authorized for transfer from the Projects To Be
Determined Account in the Police Grants Fund to Project Number PD1308. Said funds shall
only be expended and used for this Project.
SECTION 4:
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described
herein.
SECTION 5:
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.

ISSUE
Should the City of Pueblo accept Wal-Mart Foundation funding on behalf of the Police
Department not to exceed the amount of $1,000?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution
BACKGROUND
This funding will allow the Police Department School Resource Officers to conduct
Local Community Contribution Programs during 2013/2014.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact on the City as no match is required for this grant.
