ISSUE
Should City Council rescind Resolution No. 12688 and authorize the filing of a new application
for federal assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration to relocate and rehabilitate
Taxiways A and A9 at the Pueblo Memorial Airport?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
The application approved by City Council on June 10, 2013 under Resolution No. 12688 was
requesting a $3,000,000 grant from the FAA to relocate and rehabilitate Taxiways A and A9 at
the airport. The FAA has made a change to the scope of the project that has increased the cost
by approximately $1,000,000. This application reflects that funding increase. The funds
requested are for 95% of the project. The City’s matching funds will be for 2.5% of the project
and the State has agreed to match the City’s funds.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The total project is estimated at $4,210,526. The application for federal assistance is for
$4,000,000. The State's and the City's match will be $105,263 each. Matching funds are
available in the Airport Development fund (411 fund) and the Customer Deposits Fund (715
fund).
