Fire Protection Systems Inspection / Testing / Maintenance / Monitoring Services, in the amount
of $24,000?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Code requires annual independent inspection
and testing for municipal public buildings having fire protection systems. This project also
incorporates the annual inspection / testing of individual fire protection devices, such as fire
extinguishers, smoke detectors, and ingress/egress devices. This contract now incorporates
fire protection systems monitoring, that was previously accomplished separately by department.
At the request of the Fire Department, this contract provides for the inspection and testing of the
private fire hydrants located at the Wastewater Reclamation Facility (WWRF).
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds for this project will be paid from account number 101-4010-430.30-03.
The Wastewater Department will pay for the Private Fire Hydrant testing / inspection from
account number 525-4110-432.30-01.
