HomeMy WebLinkAbout12702 RESOLUTION NO. 12702 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, SUPPORTING REBRANDING OF SOUTHERN COLORADO AS AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TOOL WHEREAS, the Cities of Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Trinidad and Walsenburg, recognizing the old adage of there being power in numbers, have joined forces to promote each others’ assets as well as their own as a means of sparking economic growth; and WHEREAS, the Cities of Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Trinidad and Walsenburg desire to support the historic collaborative effort to rebrand southern Colorado to develop a year-round economic development plan by marketing ten I-25 off-ramps from Trinidad to Colorado Springs as tourism destinations and a part of the regional creative district; and WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo feels very strongly that this strategy for improvement of the economic well-being of these communities through this collective rebranding effort will culminate in increased tourism to each community; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Pueblo supports the historic collaborative effort to rebrand southern Colorado to develop a year-round economic development plan by marketing ten I-25 off-ramps from Trinidad to Colorado Springs as tourism destinations and a part of the regional creative district.
