ISSUE
Should City Council authorize the filing of an application for federal assistance from the Federal
Aviation Administration to relocate and rehabilitate Taxiways A and A9 at the Pueblo Memorial
Airport?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
This application is for the request of grant funding to relocate and rehabilitate Taxiways A and
A9 at the airport. The Taxiways need to be relocated and rehabilitated upon completion of the
new training runway in order to improve the surfaces and comply with marking and signage
requirements. The funds requested with this application are for 95% of the funds needed for the
project. The City has accepted a State grant that will fund 2.5% of the project and the City’s
obligation will be 2.5%.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The total project is estimated at $3,157,894. The application for federal assistance is for
$3,000,000. The State has issued their grant for $78,947 and the City's local match will be
$78,947. Matching funds are available in the Airport Development fund (411 fund).
