HomeMy WebLinkAbout12687RESOLUTION NO. 12687 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE BY THE CITY OF PUEBLO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, FROM THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION FOR THE ACQUISITION OF A NEW AIRCRAFT RESCUE AND FIREFIGHTING (ARFF) VEHICLE FOR FIRE STATION 10 AT PUEBLO MEMORIAL AIRPORT AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF CITY COUNCIL TO EXECUTE SAME BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The application for federal assistance, including all understandings and assurances contained therein, for the acquisition of a new Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) vehicle for Fire Station 10 at Pueblo Memorial Airport, a copy of which is attached hereto, is hereby approved and authorized to be filed with the Federal Aviation Administration. SECTION 2. The President of City Council is hereby authorized to execute the grant application on behalf of the City of Pueblo. RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution. BACKGROUND This application is for the request of grant funding to acquire a new ARFF vehicle for Fire Station 10 at the airport. The funds requested with this application are for 95% of the funds needed for this purchase. The City has accepted a State grant that will fund 2.5% of the purchase and the City’s obligation will be 2.5%. FINANCIAL IMPACT The total project is estimated at $1,052,632. The application for federal assistance is for $1,000,000. The State has issued their grant for $26,316 and the City's local match will be $26,316. Matching funds are available in the Airport Development fund (411 fund) and the Customer Deposits fund (715 fund).
