Campbell Kristi Alfonso INTRODUCED: January 14, 2013 BY: Ami Nawrocki COUNCILPERSON PRESIDENT OF CITY COUNCIL ATTESTED BY: CITY CLERK Background Paper for Proposed R ESOLUTION DATE: January 14, 2013 AGENDA ITEM # M-5 DEPARTMENT: GINA DUTCHER, MMC CITY CLERK TITLE A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION ISSUE Should City Council appoint individuals to the Historic Preservation Commission for four-year terms expiring January 1, 2017 due to the term expiration of Deborah Espinoza and Weston Burrer? RECOMMENDATION Approval of Resolution. BACKGROUND Due to the term expiration of Deborah Espinoza and Weston Burrer, there are two appointments to be filled on the Historic Preservation Commission. These appointments will be for four-year terms expiring on January 1, 2017. Ms. Espinoza has served two successive terms and per HPC bylaws she is not eligible to re-apply at this time and Mr. Burrer does not wish to be re-appointed. Following Public Notices published in The Pueblo Chieftain on Sunday, November 29, 2012 and a notice on the City Clerk’s webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, an application was received from the following individuals: Laurel B. Campbell - New, Resident of the City of Pueblo  Kristi Alfonso – New, Resident of the City of Pueblo  No other applications were received. FINANCIAL IMPACT This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation.
