The following individuals are hereby appointed to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission - City Appointments to complete three-year terms expiring December 31, 2015. Edward T. Brown Doris Kester Hector Tito Huertas INTRODUCED: December 26, 2012 BY: Ami Nawrocki COUNCIL PERSON Background Paper for Proposed RESOLUTION DATE: DECEMBER 26, 2012 AGENDA ITEM # S-1 DEPARTMENT: CITY CLERK GINA DUTCHER, MMC TITLE A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE PUEBLO HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION ISSUE Should City Council appoint three members to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission to complete three-year terms expiring December 31, 2015 due to the term expirations of Edward T. Brown, Doris Kester and Margie O’Leary? RECOMMENDATION Approval of the Resolution. BACKGROUND Due to the term expirations of Incumbent Commissioners Edward T. Brown, Doris Kester and Margie O’Leary there are three appointments to fill on the Pueblo Human Relations Commission. Mr. Brown and Ms. Kester do wish to be considered for reappointment. The City Clerk’s office has not received any correspondence from Ms. O’Leary. Following a Public Notice published in the Pueblo Chieftain on November 14, 2012 and an announcement on the City Clerk’s webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, applications were received from the following individuals: Edward T. Brown – Incumbent  Doris Kester - Incumbent  Hector Tito Huertas – New, Resident of the City of Pueblo  FINANCIAL IMPACT: This is a volunteer committee, and members serve without compensation.
