A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ACCEPTING A GRANT
AWARD AND APPLICABLE CONDITIONS PERTAINING
THERETO FROM THE STATE OF COLORADO RELATED
TO THE COLORADO AUTOMOBILE THEFT PREVENTION
AUTHORITY GRANT PROGRAM AND ESTABLISHING
PROJECT PD1210.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Pueblo has the authority on behalf of the City of
Pueblo, including its Police Department, to approve and enter into Agreements; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Pueblo has the authority on behalf of the City of
Pueblo, including its Police Department, to accept funding for public and municipal
purposes; and
WHEREAS, a Colorado Department of Public Safety Grant from the Colorado
Auto Theft Prevention Authority (CATPA) has been tendered to fund the Southern
Colorado Reduced Auto Theft Regional Task Force, in the amount of $6,869, to the City
of Pueblo Police Department; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The Memorandum of Understanding and Attachments between members of the
Southern Colorado Reduced Auto Theft Regional Task Force and the City of Pueblo, a
Municipal Corporation, on behalf of the Police Department, relating to the 2012-2013
CATPA Grant, true copies of which are attached hereto and incorporated herein, are
hereby approved, and upon such approval are approved as to form by the City Attorney.
SECTION2.
Project Number PD1210, Colorado Automobile Theft Prevention Authority
(CATPA), is hereby established, and the amount $6,869 is to be transferred thereto for
the period of July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.
SECTION 3.
The Grant Award Funds shall only be expended and used for the Project and
shall be so obligated and expended by June 30, 2013.
SECTION 4.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon approval and passage.

ISSUE
Should City Council approve and accept a grant from the Colorado Automobile Theft
Prevention Authority (CATPA) Grant Program to the Southern Colorado Motor Vehicle
Theft Task Force, of which the Pueblo Police Department is a member, establish project
PD1210, budgeted with funds approved in the annual budget in the amount of $6,869
for the period July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013 following the conditions outlined in the
memorandum of understanding?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
This Resolution approves and accepts a portion of a CATPA grant to the Southern
Colorado Motor Vehicle Theft Task Force, of which the Pueblo Police Department is a
member, as indicated in the Memorandum of Understanding attached to the Resolution.
The City of Pueblo, through its Police Department, has been allocated $6,869 from the
total award to reduce motor vehicle theft in Colorado. This Resolution transfers
budgeted funds in the amount of $6,869 to Project Number PD1210 for the period July
1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no City match required for this grant.
