HomeMy WebLinkAbout12507RESOLUTION NO. 12507 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $33,612.15 TO TOP NOTCH FENCING, LLC., AND SETTING FORTH $6,000 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK, FOR PROJECT NO. 12-075 BESSEMER PARK FENCE REPLACEMENT (CDBG) AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for PROJECT NO. 12-075 PUEBLO BESSEMER PARK FENCE REPLACEMENT (CDBG) have been received and examined, and; WHEREAS, the proposal of Top Notch Fencing, LLC, of Pueblo, Colorado, was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. A contract for PROJECT NO. 12-075 BESSEMER PARK FENCE REPLACEMENT (CDBG) is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $33,612.15. SECTION 2. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3. In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. PARKS DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR – CREIGHTON WRIGHT TITLE A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $33,612.15 TO TOP NOTCH FENCING, LLC., AND SETTING FORTH $6,000 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK, FOR PROJECT NO. 12-075 BESSEMER PARK FENCE REPLACEMENT (CDBG) AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME ISSUE Should City Council award a construction contract for the BESSEMER PARK FENCE REPLACEMENT (CDBG) to TOP NOTCH FENCING, LLC, for $33,612.15? RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution. BACKGROUND The Bessemer Area Neighborhood Development (B.A.N.D.) association received a CDBG grant for renovation improvements to Bessemer Park. The improvements include replacement of fencing surrounding the baseball field, replacement of existing asphalt paths with concrete paths, replacement of the playground equipment, new landscaping in front of the swimming pool bath house and modifications to the irrigation system. This project is the first phase of the renovations which will replace the existing fence surrounding the baseball field. The existing fence and baseball backstop will be removed and replaced with new chain link fence, new chain link baseball backstop and replacement of the field access and maintenance vehicle access gates. Attached is a bid summary showing the result of competitive bids on this project. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds for this project will be paid from Project Code CD1212 – BAND - Bessemer Park.
